Daemian

Daemian nodded slightly as she talked. Left for dead? That I can relate to, more than I'd like. He wished he could forget. To forget shutting for him was impossible. He could recall anything vividly as if it has just happened. It was useful in some instances like forging notes or recalling training lessons however, traumatic things stayed too. There were times when they came in handy too but he swore he'd not go there again. "Mmm, I'm not sure what the translation is in English. Rose tea, banana, anything with mint or cinnamon, ginger tea. maeshil. Really, herbal tea in general I suppose. You?"

Hazel

Hazel’s gaze softened again. ”Mmm, Almond, Lemon, Peach, I make herbal teas to, there’s a huge green house on my families property. So many plants I don’t think I could count them all, Healing plants, tea plants, all kinds of things. I like green teas and earl greys as well. Maybe we should swap some teas sometime.” A smile spread across her face again. Hazel relaxed a bit and leaned against the wall of the corridor. She was swiftly becoming comfortable around the new boy. Sure he was a little strange. But everyone had their quirks.

Daemian

"I have prepped tea bags for when get downafter training. I could try to get them for you but no promises it'll be soon." Damn it all Daemian, what are you doing? Don't give into this any longer. His eye brows furrowed for a moment. "Actually I could just write the recipes and directions for each in class." Still too close. He had contradicted everything he said earlier, smart move. He sighed, and scratched the back of his neck. He shouldn't have said that, he really shouldn't have but the want to converse for long periods of time without getting yelled at to practice punching until his arms gave out was starting to feel nice. Though he knew by this time tomorrow he'd be over the feeling and back to normal. So he might as well indulge in this little feeling of satisfaction as he remembered his brother explaining to him.

Hazel

Hazel glanced up to Daemian, her smile gaining a mischievous glint. ”Well I mean you could always come over and show me what you add to them. It wont be the same if I do it. Plus I’m sure we have most of the plants in the greenhouse anyway” She stated. ”Teas are tricky, especially herbal teas because the mixtures are always slightly different depending on who mixed, and what they used to mix into it. “ She studied his face as he seemed to disappear into thought again. Hoping that even the slightest bit of emotions would come though so she could get a read on him.

Daemian

"Ah, coming over? No, that's- no." His voice grew firm with the last 'no'. He didin't want to go over to her house unless he really needed to. He was still fairly certain he could cause her trouble if he decided to show up at her house with something as insignificant as tea samples. "There are some videos online that could be of more use in that department than I could." It's not that he didn't couldn't go over to here house, he just really didin't want to. She didn't look unclean or like the sort to strangle him in his sleep but ther was most certainly an issue with their oppisite gender situation. It would be unbecoming of a girl to be even remotely alone with a boy was something he learned early on was bad. The exception being his brother, but he wasn't his brother. The idea made him scratch his hands again. "Maybe I could record how I do it? I could give it to you either at the end of the week or the end of next week. Each tea has to be brewed with slight changes each time so it has the right flavor." He receded back into his thoughts for a second. Accidently going back into his native tongue. " 차는 여기에 강한 하지만 다음에는 사용의 종류가 없습니다. " [The plum tea here isn't as strong though and then there's the type of water used.] This time however he had a thoughtful look on his face. His hand rested gently under his chin as he put more thought into this arrangement. Maybe he should draw a chart for the more complex teas? What if she didn't like an ingredient and tried changing it but then the tea tasted gross? A list of good replacement ingredients was in order. But then he'd have to write alternatives for each ingredient and by that point it wouldn't even be his tea, but he wouldn't mind introducing her to new flavors. That was why they were doing this.

Hazel

Hazel continued to lean agenst the corridor wall, she crossed her legs letting her sore left leg rest on her right. ”Alright then, a video huh? Still it wont be the same way you would make it. Well, I mean if you’d like I could come over to your place.” She watched his eyes distance once more and suddenly he started speaking jibber until Hazel realized that it was probably Korean cute She thought to herself. She lightly giggled. She said his name to catch his attention once more ”Hey, Daemian I’m sorry, I don’t really know any Korean” Amusement lite her tone as the mischievous look melted into another warm smile.

Daemian

Daemian was jolted out of his thoughts at his name being called. "Hmm? Oh, forgive me." He nervously scratched the back of his neck. "I tend to do that when I'm thinking, it usually means I'm overthinking something. Or-" He was cut off as the class bell rang loudly. His head snapped up so quick he was sure he was close to snapping his own neck. "Ah, that's-" He sighed and massaged his temples again. Great job Daemian. "We'd... better get our things." He walked back into the class room, grabbed his recorder and Hazel's items and walked out of the class quickly. There was already a stampede for the door right after he'd walked out again. "Here." He held out her items for her to take back quickly.

Hazel

Hazel jumped at the shrill ring of the bell. ”Oh fuck! How did we talk though the hole class?” She looked to class door before glancing to Daemian as he headed back into the room. shit shit shit! She thought as Daemian emerged ahead of the crowd with both there things. ”Thank you for grabbing my stuff for me” She said tossing the container back into her bag and jostling things around looking for her schedule again. She found the paper and read the next class. ”English… cool. I love reading, what do you have next?” She asked looking back to Daemian.

Daemian

Daemian shrugged at her question. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them again. “English.” They had all their classes together? Was this normal for most other students? No, the other kids had changed within their other classes. This was just the school getting lazy perhaps? This wasn’t a legal issue so it wasn’t like he was going to complain about it. Odds are they’d probably get seated relatively close to one another, unless he got lucky and he could choose the very back of the classroom as his designated area. Though he would have to admit, speaking English was fine and easy to some extent. Reading and writing it though was still a bit hard. He’d often randomly switch to Korean in the middle of writing a message. Even forging that note took a couple tries and even then, he was shocked it made sense enough to get him out of class long enough for him to eat. He most certainly got lucky that was for sure then again, the principle’s handwriting was so frilly and unnecessarily swirly he probably couldn’t read it. If Daemian hadn’t looked at those papers before and had it read to him there was no way he’d be able to have written it. He started the trek to English but stopped after a few steps and turned to look at Hazel. "Don't just stand there, come on. We should get there early. I want to sit in the very back. Less likely I'll get called on."

Hazel

”Well then… all 4 classes together…wow talk about quality time huh?” She cracked a half smile trying to entertain the topic a bit more. She glanced down at the schedule again. This cant be right… She checked again. Nope, it was. English room 214 4th period. ”Welp that seals it then” Her head popped up as Hazel heard Daemian call her. She quickly tossed her stuff back into the bag and swung the strap over her shoulder. She walked with him down the hall. Trying not to walk into anyone as the rush began. Her gaze iced over as she stared down a person that had accidentally brushed her wounded leg. It was an instinctually reaction and she quickly shot then an apologetic look as they continued down the hall. ”You know having all 4 classes together is strange. I wonder if it means something” She joked.

Daemian

“Are you referring to fate? I don’t believe in that garbage.” Daemian didn’t read the joking tone and considered it as she was a true believer in fate. He’d believe in it once he figured out why his life was a giant ball of suffocating misery. The second Daemian bumped into someone he gave them a murderous look and they backed away slowly. He turned his gaze towards anyone who got too close and you could see the students shy away from him as a murderous air about his surfaced long enough for them to get to their class then it died down. As they arrived, he walked into the class and made a beeline for the seat at the very back corner in the room, right next to the window. He wasn’t one for conversation and this way he might even be able to take a nap in two in class since his hunts only ended very later at night and his training was always early in the morning. It was hard balancing all his responsibilities, but it was better than sitting around and doing nothing. Thoughts could be just as suffocating and dangerous as a physical weapon. He looked at Hazel, slightly curious as to where she was going to sit. There were some open seats around him as they had arrived early and coupled with the fact most people just probably didn’t want to be near him. She’d better sit soon before she runs out of options. He reached into his backpack and pulled out his textbook. He could understand the cover. Then as he flipped it over his face took on an expression akin to hopelessness. “What is this?”

Hazel

Hazel sighed. ”Well, sometimes things happen, and there isent always an explanation. This world is full of things that we will never truly understand, or find out.” She winked to him. Hazel hesitated at the front of the class as Daemian headed straight to the back. She glanced around the room as a few more people found their places. Hazel heard Daemians voice as he looked to the book, that was the first taste of true emotion she had seen appear on his face. And the pure lostness of his face. She slowly walked toward the back of the room toward him. ”You uh… you want some help with translation?” She asked nodding toward the thick text book in his grasp.

Daemian

As he noticed her approach his face went blank again. "Hmm? Oh, yes. That would be nice actually." He wasn't so proud to refuse some much needed help. He gestured to the seat next to him and waited for her to sit down. "I can speak English well enough but I don't understand how it works. So is the odd rules supposed to make sense? What am I missing here?" He pointed to the part of the book he was referring to, a look of serious concentration on his face.

Hazel

Hazel noticed Daemians face turn blank as she approached. So it is a façade he uses Hazel took the seat next to him and looked to the page he was pointing. A warm smile spread across her face as she looked to him in her peripheral vision. ”Its an old saying, this ones updated, but it reads ‘Soul mates are said to be 2 souls destined to be together, programmed to recognize one another though space and time’” She said running her finger under each line. Pausing on the commas and periods to emphasize the pauses. She turned back to him. The warm smile became a joyous half smile as she pushed the book back over to him. ”Now you try” Hazel said in an encouraging tone.

Daemian

Daemian listened and followed along with her reading in his head, memorizing it. "Soul mates? How can souls recognize each other? Through time and space? How can you see through that?" He was making the mistake of taking the poem literally. Poetry wasn't his first interest nor was it anywhere on his list of enjoyable things. It was too lovey and sentimental for his tastes. He was home schooled up until this point so maybe his dislike of it was a reflection of his parent's ideals.

Hazel

Hazel giggled as she realized that Daemian was taking the poem as more of a fact. ”No, no silly, it’s a poem, a figure of speech, not true fact. At least not scientifically. Its meant to play with your thoughts. Talking about how true love is a very strong force. Now stop stalling and read it out.” She crossed her legs under the table. Her foot shaking sub-consciously.

Daemian

"True love sounds like a bit more trouble than its worth." He huffed indignantly. "I am not stalling." He looked at the poem again and reflected on ur for a bit. "Soul mates are said to be two souls destined to be together, programmed to recognize one another through time and space." He said it slowly, unsure if he was saying it correctly even though he had clearly copied what Hazel had read. "I don't understand that. Why must poems constantly consist of some sort of love or obsession? Doing that doesn't help anything or even act productively towards a goal."

Hazel

Hazel sighed though her nose. ”I dunno, seems nice to me, someone to share your life with, to cherish, to rely on. A lot of people see it as a weakness. But a lot of people see hope and kindness as a weakness as well, but our society still sees it as the best route no?” She looked to him. Facing him fully. Studying his scared face for emotion once more. ”They don’t always consist of love, some are of heart ace and trial, some of battle, some of complete imagination. Poems can be of anything you wish. All you have to do is put it into words” The smile on her face slowly grew as he read on. ”That’s pretty good, but I can tell that your working more from memory of what I said rather then reading it. You stalled on the wrong spots and your eyes never moved across the page” She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth. ”You mister, are going to have to go back to basics. I can do basics” She said nodding along to the last sentence. She pulled out a note book with an alphabet on the back. She pushed it over to him. ”How many of these do you know?” She asked glancing at Daemian.

Daemian

Daemian couldn't help but wrinkle his nose in slight distaste. "It is a weakness. If useless emotions get in the way of what needs to be done then it's all the more dangerous for the both of you. Besides, who has time for such idiotic emotions? There are much more productive ways to be passing time and waiting for death to claim us than tying ourselves down with such useless feelings such as 'love' and 'fondness’'? Besides, there are plenty of examples of those positive emotions leading nowhere good and then of course there's the time where it only makes things worse." He had to take a break and take a breath before continuing. "There's too many ways that the message can be misunderstood. Poets should just be blunt about how they feel or at the very least make it more obvious to those that would have a hard time with understanding it. Some poets are much more useful in that respect. Like Percy Bysshe Shelley. "How wonderful is Death, Death, and his brother Sleep. One, pale as yonder waning moon with lips of lurid blue; The other rosy as the morn. When throned on ocean’s wave it blushes o’er the world yet both so passing wonderful." He couldn't help but groan as she caught him reciting it from memory. "I recognize all of them if that's what you're asking."

Hazel

Hazel sighed to his reaction. ”Well, you sound pretty patinate about that, and you know what passion takes? It takes love” She gave a quick wink gently shaking her head. Hazel leaned back in her seat. ”Well that’s a start, but you cant memorize every piece of literature in English class. I don’t think even Shakesphere memorized all of Romeo and Juliet.” Hazel let her eyes wander around the class room for a moment before returning to Daemian. ”good, So you know all of these. Then what are you having a problem with?” It was probably better to just ask him then try and guess about it anyway.

Daemian

"Hatred." He said quickly at the question of passion. He tried not to roll his eyes at the mention of love. "Useless." He propped his arm up and gently rested his head on the back of his hand. "I'm pretty sure I have a good shot at it." As her eyes wondered around the room he glanced back down at the notebook. "Mostly, just how the rules of English works."

Hazel

”A good shot huh?” She asked skeptically raising an eye brow. She idly tapped her pen on the desk. Thinking over what he said. ”Hmm, what do you mean by how it works? Like sentence segments? Or punctuation? Or is it something else?” Her head sub-consciously as she made eye contact with him again. Studying his face. She didn’t know what it was, but something fascinated her about it. He seemed to old for his age. Like she could almost see all the things happening behind his eyes, and there was so much more that happened in his head then most boys her age.

Daemian

"Yes." He said. As she made sure contact he liked felt into her eyes too until the school bell Rang again. A tall woman walked in, or she looked rather tall due to her high heels. His gaze was especially drawn to the brooch pinned to her shirt. “Hello class, my name is Mrs. Nelson and I’ll be teaching you all sophomore English this year.” He dark brown hair was pulled up in a tight bun that was pinned to the back of her head. Daemian covered his nose, able to smell the hair spray from all the way in the back. As he looked around no one else seemed to mind it at all or just couldn’t smell it. Then there was the problem of the perfume she was wearing. “Paris Paradise.” He mumbled under his breath, his mother liked that one as well. “We’ll talk later.” He whispered to Hazel, shooting back to his spot and closing his book quietly. As the teacher droned on his stared out the window as he did in their first class and watched the gym class working out outside. “We have a couple new faces this year. Why don’t you both introduce yourselves?” Mrs. Nelson offered, her eager hands beckoning them to stand up and introduce themselves. “Your names and maybe a hobby will do just fine. Maybe where you came from?” Daemian looked at the young teacher, staring at her like she was a piece of glass. “No.” He said flatly, before going back to staring out of the window again. He wasn’t going to entertain some idea for friendship that was only going to serve as some useless attempt for him to make friends he didn’t even want or need. Mrs. Nelson’s bright smile faltered a bit and she looked over to Hazel. “Well, it’s okay to be a little shy. Why don’t we have the lovely lady go first. Then it can be your turn.” Daemian rolled his eyes and huffed, this woman just wasn’t getting it.

Hazel

Hazels gaze was torn from Daemians face by the click of heels at the door. She looked over to spy the tall women. In about her 30s with hair so tight it looked like it hurt. The stink of aerosol hit Hazel like a ton of bricks and she snorted. Then the perfume, like waves it wafted towards them. Burning her nose and making her feel sick. Hazels attention was once more drawn to Daemian as he mumbled the name of the perfume. She nodded to him as he scooted back to his spot and she tried to not gag on the retched stench that would probably make English her most disliked class for the year. Damn, this is going to suck She thought watching Mrs.Nelson go on about the layout of the years units. Hazel faded in and out of attention. She made eye contact when she was addressed by the teacher. She was not surprised by Daemians cold response, she stood. Looking around the room for a moment before specking ”Im Hazel Blackwood, Im originally from Canada actually, and I really like walks in the forest I guess.” Hazel shrugged her shoulders as she sat back down, Daemians approach seeming like the smarter option now, introductions were always awkward in classes. She crossed her arms and looked down at the census again like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Her hair covering her face a bit. The class stayed quiet as Mrs. Nelson continued to stair Daemian down. Hazel looked over to his again, biting her lip. ”Hey don’t leave me hangin.” She said in hopes that he would give in a bit so that the class could move on.

Daemian

Mrs. Nelson nodded and smiled to Hazel before turning her gaze expectantly to Daemian. He looked back to Hazel and his look said he wasn't the least bit amused. Still, he stood and looked Mrs. Nelson right in the eyes. A look of venomous hate in his eyes. "My name is Daemian Seung-Hyun. My hobbies are none of your concern and my present living designation even less. If we can continue on with class now." He sat down and resumed looking out the window. Mrs. Nelson's smile faltered and she quickly cleared her throat. "Well, as for the rest of the class-" Daemian tuned out whatever else was said, only interested in the last bell of the day ringing so he could go home and be with his pets and maybe sink a few arrows into the targets he had set up at home.

Hazel

Hazel tried to give an apologetic look as she received what could only be described as a death glare from Daemian. She tried to catch his eye again from her prereferral vision but he was once again staring out the window. Hazel sighed and looked back to the front of the class ”This is going to be a long ass year” She muttered under her breath. Pulling aside the hair that was covering her face with the end of her pen. Taking notes as they went along in her note book. Glancing over every now and then to see of Daemian was even paying attention, but still his view lingered out to the window. Hazel looked out the window for a moment she looked up to the sky. And saw the circling shapes of 2 red tailed hawks. Probably the same ones from earlier. Hazel watched the teacher for a moment as she lowered her pen and tapped Daemian on the wrist with it. She looked back to him with a half smile. Nodding out the window at the 2 birds circling over head ”The hawks are back” She said in a whispering voice. Her eyes drawn to them.

Daemian

Daemian glanced in Hazel's direction at her muttering temporarily gained his attention before the outside world recaptured his slightly interested gaze. Daemian looked over at her when his wrist was being tapped and followed her gaze to the two hawks. A childish sense of intrigue showed up on his face for all of five seconds before going back to the neutral look of boredom. "Yeah." His voice was barely higher than a whisper at this point as Mrs. Nelson continued to drone on about things he couldn't have cared less about. He glanced up at the clock. Not even close to being able to leave. He glanced at the other students being attentive and considered doing the same. Nope. He turned back to the window, completely invested in not giving a damn.

Hazel

Hazel was surprised to see the flash of emotion crest Daemians face. She decided that it would become a hobby of hers to watch for those flashes of emotion when she saw him. They intrigued her. Almost as much at the hawks swooping outside the window. She had her note book open and idly scribbled the birds shape onto her page as she watched them fly overhead. Before long Hazel realized that it was almost the end of class. And instead of a page of notes all she had was a scribble of two birds. ”Crap” She muttered pulling out the page and folding it, putting it aside as she tried to hurriedly write down what was on the board. Then the bell rang and Hazel checked her phone. 2:10 pm She was going to have to hurry. Hazel had promised Morgan that she would go shopping with him that afternoon. And then she had some hunting to do of her own after that. And really after the weird day she needed it. Hazel grabbed her books tossing them into her bag. Looking to Daemian she gave a quick smile ”See ya later” Before racing out the doors of the class.

Daemian

As soon as it got close for the class to end Daemian was already putting his supplies for the day back into his backpack. He was all too happy to leave. “Bye.” He said, eyeing Hazel as she left. What an odd girl. He finished up packing up his things before turning to leave. He happened to glance down at Hazel’s desk and saw the drawing of the hawks. He contemplated leaving it. He could also just toss it out and forget about it. He sighed as some shred of him wanted to be kind in some way. He walked out of the classroom, looking left and right trying to find the girl he’d been stuck with all day. He barely spotted her head bobbing amongst the rushing throng of students, eager to leave this hell hole. He followed her, not too eager to converse with her again. He could already tell even if he tried to call out to her his voice would have been drowned out by these insufferable teens. Maybe he’d be able to catch her outside. Thankfully he didn’t have to go back to his assigned locker, but the hallways were still causing quite the amount of trouble with getting from point A to point B.

Hazel

Hazel chewed her lip waiting for the herd of people to slowly emerge from the building. She sighed as she was bumped and jostled. Even allowed a growl to escape her lips as someone pushed her into the wall on the stairs. Finally, She made it outside the building. It had been such a nice day Hazel didn’t bother with her car. She wanted to walk home. It was just a quick trip though the forest anyway. As soon as her shoes hit the leaf and snow littered ground of the forest floor she moved at a more comfortable speed. It was such a pain to be slow around the humans. She would have run home. Loving the feeling of the cool air in her hair. But her leg was still sore. Even though it had probably closed by now to the point where she could run, she wasn’t going to risk it. Taking her time to look around at the flora and the scents around her. Working on finding them and pin pointing locations as she walked along the well trodden trail. Hazels shot hear head up as the cry of a bird caught her attention. It was one of the hawks. She watched it soar over head. Flapping its wings and diving. That’s when she remembered the sketch. Shoot she left it in the desk in English. ”Oh well its probably gone by now" She sighed watching the hawk as it took one more loop and disappeared over the canopies of the forest. Hmmm, I wonder where the other one went. Cant be to far behind I suppose She turned and continued her walk home listening to the crunch of snow under foot and the rustling of trees over head.

Daemian

Daemian had managed to fight off the urge to punch every over excited child that bumped into him as he managed to exit the building. As Hazel continued in front of him he sighed and looked at the drawn sketch. Is it worth this much time and effort? No, it truly wasn’t. “I’ll just give it to her tomorrow, it’s not like I won’t see her in literally every class.” A choice he’d think on for the remainder of the day and probably halfway into the next. He saw her slightly pick up her pace once she walked to the woods. He glanced at his motorcycle carefully parked close by. Well at least he had one thing to look up to today. He sighed, readjusting the backpack on his back and got on his motorcycle. He made sure the picture was stuck into his back pocket before he strapped on his helmet and started up his bike. He noticed a shadow overhead and snapped his head up. The hawk from earlier circled around him for a moment flying off. He revved up his bike and chose to ignore the bird for now. He started on his way home to get started on his archery day before he went out hunting later. That and his dogs needed to be well taken care of and he decided tonight would be a good night to let Ranger and Hwasal to let then work off some steam and hopefully kill a beast while they were out. Now he had to endure anew hell hole.

Both Hazel and Daemian begin their first days back in high school.  Winding up finding themselves sharing all 4 classes together booth teens realize that they will have to find a way to cope with one another even though they are like water and oil.  It cant be impossible to get along can it?  Its not like they're enemies or anything...
